Conductor Louis Langrée brings a cast fresh from the Aix-en-Provence Festival for this staged concert of Mozart’s fiancée-swapping farce that hints at deeper themes on the tenuous nature of relationships. The vocal magic and mayhem are supported by leading period-instrument ensemble the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, known for its “spirited and finely nuanced readings” (BBC Music Magazine) of Mozart favorites.

“Vibrant, probing performances” New York Times on the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra
“You feel the zing of jubilant repartee as multi-layered lines are traded and interwoven within this conductor-less ensemble. That’s authenticity.” Financial Times on the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra
This performance is approximately three-and-a-half hours long, including one intermission between Acts I and II.
