Phil Grabsky’s In Search of Mozart is a detective story that travels to the heart of old Europe, and to the heart of genius itself. This “challenging and exemplary” 2006 documentary (Los Angeles Times) reconstructs the composer’s life through his music and extensive correspondence, and features interviews and performances with more than 70 leading Mozart interpreters, including Renée Fleming, Magdalena Kožená, Roger Norrington, Leif Ove Andsnes, the Vienna Philharmonic, and Mostly Mozart’s own Louis Langrée. .
“An adamantly linear, myth-busting stride through a prodigiously talented life.” —New York Times
“Top-drawer…essential viewing.” —Guardian (U.K.)
